I\u2019m 24. I don’t come from a farming family. Two years ago, I leased 80 acres and started growing corn and sunflowers. Everything I know, I learned from YouTube and kind neighbours.<\/span><\/p>\n

This fall was my first solo harvest. I borrowed my neighbour\u2019s old moisture meter \u2013 the one with the rusty probe. It gave me readings that jumped around like a cricket. One minute 22%, the next 18% \u2013 on the\u00a0<\/span>same<\/span><\/em>\u00a0sample. I didn’t know which number to trust.<\/span><\/p>\n
